The photo above was taken of our class in the eighth grade at West Main school, and below is a photo of Milton "Speck" Nelson and Marcella Rambie Spurgeon, the Duke and Duchess representing the 8th grade class at the 1948 Spring Mayfete, which was a high school function.

Now here we are, just a bunch of us girls being girls and . . . well, you know how we are.

And here is our photo as we graduated from the 8th grade and on May 25, 1948, and the program for our graduation. We were mighty proud of our achievement and of moving on to high school.
